Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds…It also doesn’t keep Dave and DeLora away from our home on New Years’ Eve.
We’ve gotten together for more than a decade to share this night together. We put together puzzles. We watch football. We eat WAY too much and stay up WAY too late (9:30 is our usual bed time). And then we toast the new year with milk and cookies and call it a night.
Tomorrow will be a big day of more football and the girls will take a walk in the afternoon. Dave and I might drive into town for some important errand. More food will be eaten by the kids and pizza will be purchased at some point in the day.
What can I say? It’s tradition.
