Day 48 – December 18, 2010

The Austin Family Christmas.  Nothing says fun like Todd and Jonathan.  Both laugh loudly, filling a room with their presence.  Alone, they are a party.  Together, they are off the charts.

The family shared in a wonderful dinner, served by my mom and dad (salad, prime rib, baked potato and corn followed by all the desserts you could want).  Clean up commenced and then we gathered into the living room for the singing of Christmas carols and more laughter.  Before the presents, we shared in Christmas Communion, a family tradition for at least 30 years.

When it came time for the presents, we all had fun watching the kids unwrap their gifts.  We got mom a set of stationary and my dad a Maul to help him chop wood in his retirement.  I think he liked it.  Actually, I know he liked it.

We opened White Elephant gifts and if it weren’t for the persistent begging of my sister, Libby, I would have a ceramic pig’s head about which I could boast.  As it was, I came home with fond memories and some good pictures.  Take a look!
