This is one of my favorite books. I’ve read it twice before and am 2/3’s of the way through again. He was not perfect but certainly an inspiration for any who aspire to be the best they can be.
From humble circumstances, he rose to hold the most powerful office in the world, ended a world war, and fed an entire nation through his leadership.
He made many other decisions that, in the course of history, have been debated and evaluated. Dropping the atomic bombs, breaking the strikes, and the start of the Korean conflict all remain questionable leadership choices.
