Another Weekend of Service

I attend an amazing church.  For the third straight year we have closed the auditorium doors and entered the community to perform acts of service.  On the first weekend of November we meet at the church building, sing some songs, say a prayer and leave the building to be the Church.

This year more than 3700 people entered the surrounding neighborhoods to collect food, give away shoes, plant trees, make soup, pick up trash, rake leaves, and so much more.  There were 100 different sites with more than 175 projects.  The goal of 500,000 lbs of food collected in the neighborhoods was surpassed in grand style.

There aren’t many churches who can pull this off.
