Transportation Problems

Every so often you pass a car with a flat tire.  Occasionally, you see a vehicle that is out of gas.  Seldom do you see a car fully engulfed in flames.  Okay, NEVER have I seen a car on fire.

But there was something even more unusual about this scene than a flaming automobile.  As I drove past this torched car on I-69 southbound, I noticed something odd.

There was no one in the car, thankfully.  There was no one standing next to the car.  There was no one in the ditch waiting for help.  There wasn’t anyone anywhere; just people diving past, straining their necks to see the spectacle.

But the questions remain.  Where did the driver go?  What started this incident?  How did this all start?

While I may never know the answers, I do know that this campfire snarled traffic for a few hours.  I know it forced the Indy-bound flow into a tight bottleneck.  I know that it makes for great art.
