Dear God,
Thank you for the summer. It has been an active time of growth and adventure. It has been a moment in our lives we will never forget.
We climbed mountains and marveled at their majesty and grandeur. At the top, we wiped the fog from our eyes, the dewdrops gathering on our cheeks, to be graced with your sunlight and its warmth as the clouds blew by.
We dipped our toes in cold lake water, as fish dart away from the disturbance, their bodies reflecting the refracted light. As we waded into the deep, we felt the water’s character, its age, and its wisdom. From its glassy surface, we see the mountains reflected and know your fingers have touched this place.
We stood at the base of the falls, the roaring water deafening us, making speech impossible. Its white foamy water exploded all around us, taking our breath with every cold wave of power that fell on our heads.
We watched the sun set gently in the western sky, the colors exploding on a distant horizon. It blinded us, dazzled us, and its brilliance reminded us of your power and your beauty.
