Today’s headlines scream the unease.
They shout sorrow.
They proclaim unrest.
“Air Strikes on Gaza Continue as Deaths Rise”
“Zimbabwe’s Children “Wasting Away”
“Sludge Spill Estimate Grows to Billions of Gallons”
And yet, God whispers another message.
When the entire world seems to be spinning out of control, the writer of Psalms takes another view. “Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints…”
Dear God,
Whisper Your Peace. In the midst of all the shouting voices or turmoil and terror, I pray that your voice would calm the storm. Bring hope where there is no hope. Bring joy where this only sorrow. Bring relief to those who see no end. Comfort those who mourn and cover your people with your grace.
