With a new year comes a new challenge. Perhaps it is my age…or the age in which we live. Either way, I have been moved to look beyond my front door to the world and the problems that enhance its dysfunction. The closer I look, the more I am convinced that I am not helping to find an answer and, perhaps, am actually a part of the problem.
Before you take another drink of clean water or order that McDonald’s hamburger, I invite you to pick up this weighty volume and read a bit. I am in chapter 2 and am already deeply convicted.
There is something wrong with our world when 6,000 children die each day because they do not have a clean source of water. I may never drill a well in the deepest reaches of Africa but I must be able to make a difference somehow, somewhere. You can, too.
