Dear God,
I have sinned. Forgive me. I have said words that were hurtful and cruel. I have intentionally caused pain. My words were carefully chosen and perfectly timed. They struck deep and cut wide.
It wasn’t until much later that I realized their full impact on my relationship with this other, my relationship with you, and the condition of my heart. I was wrong. I know it. And I am sorry.
I pray now for strength to make it right, to mend the wound, to repair the error, in word and deed.
Father, I have sinned. Forgive me, Lord. AMEN.
