My wife, the nurse, is forcing me to sit. As a general rule, I enjoy mowing, moving, standing, even walking short distances. But she is of the belief that post-operative recovery requires rest. I usually don’t agree until the day after I have failed to listen to her trained medical advice. Too much walking results in pain. Too much standing & stooping leads to another 24 hours of ache and Motrin.
The doctor said “Weight bearing as tollerated.” I just didn’t realize how little I would tollerate. Or how much my wife would understand. Now if you will excuse me, I have medication to administer.
